Unlike most photographers these days, I didn't set out to have a fun, Instagram'able, non-8-5 job. I simply followed something I thought was fun to do. I picked up my first DSLR in yearbook class, and later got my own DSLR senior year. On a graduation trip, I was determined to take pictures of the starry night sky in Zion National Park. 3 am rolled around, I set everything up...and I couldn't take a photo of the most beautiful scene (I knew nothing about manual shooting). Determined 18-year-old Courtney took a month online course, and suddenly felt confident enough to offer $50 sessions on a Facebook post. Here I am, getting to love people through my job, all while getting to love my job. I am so grateful to God for my countless joyful & fulfilling experiences in being a photographer.
